Jay and Dave talk about minimum wage and the future of work. As jobs like drivers and cashiers (and eventually programmers and network engineers) are eliminated, what does the future of work look like? Do we need a social safety net? What form should that take? Univeral Basic Income, Living Wage and other terms are used, probably incorrectly. 018.mp3 (48m 23MB) Embedded below, 3 videos we referenced in the discussion.

15 Old Threshers Reunion w/ Terry McWilliams

15 Old Threshers Reunion w/ Terry McWilliams

Jay’s first week living in an RV full time, camping at the Old Threshers Reunion campground. This year’s reunion is September 1st - 5th in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. With over 2,000 exhibits & attractions you should not miss it. 30-35 thousand visitors attended in 2015. It’s an amazing event. Jay talks with Terry McWilliams, CEO of the association, who generously gave some of his time on a busy Thursday morning. Terry does local radio spots every week, so is much better at podcasting than Jay is. :) Jay’s parents and grandparents are from Mt. Pleasant. He has many years of fond memories attending the Old Threshers reunion with them, and was very excited to spend a week on the grounds. 015.mp3 (27m 13MB) Links: Old Threshers Reunion Tons of YouTube videos show off the amazing 1920s steam tractors and much more.
